Had an amazing time here recently for a wedding party. The staff are amazing and looked after our entire party above and beyond what we could have expected. The food is great both breakfast and evening meal. Highly recommended if you’re in town.
I stay in lots of hotels so yes I am judging it against other 3 star hotels. Plus points: Staff member when I rang to book so very friendly and very helpful. Staff member at check in was very friendly. Bed was really really comfy (apart from the decorative bolster running the full width of the bed so you had 2 pillows even if you didn’t want them). Food was lovely Downside: whoever designed the bathroom in room 214 shouldn’t be a bathroom designer. I’m only 5ft 1” but had to sit sideways on the toilet because the toilet is so close to the sink. The bathroom has clearly been refurbed as it is very modern compared to the bedroom but the design is a disaster. The lemongrass and cedar wood soap dispenser was filled with a horrible smelling purple soap. The handmade soap company make amazing soap, which I use at home, so when I initially spotted it I was impressed but it was very short lived. Would I return? Probably not unfortunately. I don’t think it’s good value. I have stayed in 4 star hotels in NI for £20 - £25 cheaper per night
My car broke down and I ended up spending the night at Walshs Hotel in Maghera. It is a lovely hotel but a little worried that the double bed might make it difficult for me to walk the next day as some soft beds leave me can really exacerbate my pain. There was no need to worry. The bed was so supportive I slept well and through the night. The breakfast the next morning was delicious. The staff could not have been warmer or more helpful. I can highly recommend it.
I had stayed in Walsh's the night before my wedding and also on the night of my wedding with my wife and it was incredible. The staff were so friendly and so accommodating and they did everything they could to ensure we had the best stay possible, the breakfast was delicious and the service was on point! Special thanks to Michelle and Kieran for making it a stay to remember!
Visited recently for a function. Beautiful interior, immaculately clean. Bar staff were attentive, friendly, patient and personable. Well priced with adequate parking nearby.

Outrageously fun for a business trip. Rooms are roomy. Bar never closes. Breakfast flows forever. The same people for the last two years and they are all brilliantly attentive. The view is not great (not from my room anyway) as you’re in the middle of the town - but you get free parking. Massive bonus. See you soon again.
